Chris Povey

Design Director,
Stantec, Melbourne

Chris is a water treatment plant design specialist. A significant portion of his job is working as the Design Manager for Melbourne Water’s projects as part of the Safety Focused Performance JV with Downer and Abergeldie. He also conducts superintending services for regional Victorian clients’ construction projects.

He’s motivated by our community goal to provide water and wastewater services, something Chris believes is vital for public health maintenance, environmental protection, and supports the growth of Australian cities and towns.

Favourite parts of the job? Working on design and construction contracts, seeing our designs take life, and watching our younger engineers grow in experience, maturity and authority. A project highlight of Chris’ includes a pedestrian and pipe bridge over a beautiful stretch of the Maribyrnong River in the north-western suburbs of Melbourne.
